Affectionately known as “Pumpkin”
October 12, 1975 – January 30, 2026
Willie Allen Jr., lovingly known as “Pumpkin,” was born on October 12, 1975, in Walterboro, South Carolina, to the late Willie Allen Sr. and Brenda Allen. On January 30, 2026, Willie peacefully completed his earthly journey and entered eternal rest.
A proud native of Colleton County, Willie attended Ruffin High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and memories that remained with him throughout his life. After graduating, he devoted his career to public service as a heavy equipment operator with the South Carolina Department of Transportation. Through his dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment, Willie made a lasting impact on the state and the communities he served.
Outside of work, Willie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved fishing, especially the quiet and reflective moments by the water, and he took great pride in working on and repairing cars. Always willing to lend a helping hand or share his knowledge, Willie was known for his generosity, patience, and kind spirit.
Willie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Annie Pearl Daniels; his paternal grandparents, Jaycee and Leola Allen; his brother, Kenard Allen; and his brothers-in-law, Greg Wolfe and Craig Wolfe.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Wanda; his son, Keandre Allen; his siblings, Eric Smith, Felicia (Terrance) Washington, Roosevelt Allen (Ericka), Renodia (Chris) Tomkins, William Allen, Stella (Aaron) Saxby, Gregory (Tammy) Jenkins, and William Hodges Jr.; his mother-in-law, Mattie Wolfe; his brothers-in-law, Marion (Cynthia) Wolfe and Antroy Wolfe; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
